Let's talk about TMS:

TMS has been approved by the FDA for mental health treatment. TMS is safe and effective! TMS can be used as an alternative to medications or used in conjunction with certain medications. TMS therapy answers the question, Is antidepressant medication all there is? TMS uses magnetic pulses to stimulate nerve cells that have become dormant which is the root of depression in the portion of the brain that directs mood and has far fewer side effects than medications. TMS does not impair your ability to function, allowing you to return to whatever you need to do directly after a session with minimal to no side effects at all.

It needs to be said that TMS may not eliminate a client’s antidepressant medication, however in many cases, it lowers the dosage needed and thereby decreases the side effects associated with those antidepressants.

Mapping takes about an hour. Once a patient’s cap is created,  TMS  treatments can be administered accurately, quickly, and efficiently.

 

TMS works by zeroing in on the prefrontal cortex (left dorsolateral) of the brain, which regulates mood. A NeuroVibe Technician places a special cap on your scalp to create a “map” of your brain. This map identifies the areas known as the motor cortex by stimulating that region until it causes the desired reaction. The marker will be placed to signify the amplitude needed for the desired reaction (e.g., hand movement).

 

NUMBER OF TMS SESSIONS

On Average, A treatment circuit includes daily sessions 5 business days for 6 weeks, totaling 30 sessions. Clients may require maintenance treatment sessions following the primary treatment course. Many clients feel the difference immediately, others feel the full impact of the treatment over 2-To 3 weeks of sessions. 
 

SIDE EFFECTS OF TMS

TMS has a low risk of side effects, one of which is headaches, which are usually mild and dissipate as the client becomes used to the course of treatment.

 

Let the staff know immediately if you are feeling discomfort during a session. Clients may also feel a spike of increased depression, this will be overcome as the sessions increase.
